Red Bull driver Max Verstappen commented on the pole position he got right away in the first official qualifying session of the Formula 1 season in Sakhir. The world champion admitted that he did not expect to start from the first place: "Honestly è it was a bit’ unexpected, forò fortunately the car in qualifying è went better than we expected".

"È it was a lot of fun actually. I looked for grip on the track, but with the wind of the last few days è it was complicated to put the lap together. Verstappen took his 33rd career pole position in Bahrain, matching legends such as Prost and Clark. He's fifth all-time.
