Luis Enrique is adamant about replacing Kylian Mbappé
Luis Enrique è categorical about replacing Kylian Mbappé
In the advance of the 24th day of Ligue 1, PSG è failed to go beyond a 0-0 draw on the field of Monaco. What caused the most stir in France, however, was Paris coach Luis Enrique’s decision to replace the 1998 class player after the first 45' in favor of Kolo Muani. In a press conference, the very same former Spain coach è expressed himself bluntly on the issue.
"I am surprised by these questions. I have spent enough time in the world of soccer to know that everything è important in clubs of this type and prestige. Sooner or later we will have to play without him. Whether è it was a decision related to his future? Absolutely not, I have to adapt the team to every situation and now the group must learn to play without him" began the former Barcelona coach.
"There'è no Mbappé case. Sooner or later he won't be with us anymore, so it's important to be able to get used to playing and winning even without his contribution. I have to look for the best solution for the team. I don’t want to argue, è it was my decision" added Luis Enrique.
According to l'Equipe, although the player took the change well at halftime, the French striker’s entourage reportedly discussed with some club executives, as they would not have liked the second substitution in a row.
As already known for several weeks, Kylian Mbappé will not renew his contract expiring in June 2024 and will leave PSG at the end of the season. Although there is a lot of competition, Real Madrid would be the club in pole to sign the player on a zero-parameter basis.
