More cards than excitement: Torino-Fiorentina ends without a winner

It ends without winners noré losers the match of the 27th day of Serie A, played Saturday evening, between Torino and Fiorentina. At the Olimpico Grande Torino goes into the archives a match characterized five players cautioned, one sent off and by the red also for Juric at the end of the match, indicating a certain degree of nervousness on both sides.

First half: goal cancelled out for Zapata, Ricci gets sent off

The first cautioned è Ranieri, of Fiorentina, after just 7'. Two rounds of hands later Torino è already forced a change, with Ilic having to leave the pitch and Juric choosing Ricci in his place. The match does not take off but at 39' it seems to take a direction, when Zapata overcomes Terracciano for Toro's apparent lead.

The celebration of the players and the Granata crowd lasts forò the time of the on-field review: referee Marchetti spots a foul by Zapata himself on Milenkovic just before the winning conclusion. Tempers run hot: Biraghi cautioned at 41', same fate for Ricci at 5' of recovery. The former Empoli makes himself the protagonist of another foul, on Arthur, two minutes later: the vibrant protests are punished with the second yellow, the expulsion is triggered. In the excitement of the moment comes the caution for Arthur himself and for coach Juric, before the teams go to the locker room at 0-0.

Second half: one important chance per side

In the second half, despite the numerical superiority, Fiorentina remains bridled and fails to make itself particularly dangerous: è indeedTorino came close to taking the lead, at 52', with a counterattack launched by Gineitis that forò Bellanova did not take advantage, shooting at Terracciano. At 63' the most dangerous opportunity, however, for the guests:great header by Bonaventura, Milinkovic-Savic saves with an important stroke of the kidney.

The pace, however, does not increase, in the final rises the nervousness: Italiano gets himself cautioned on the bench, Barak takes the last yellow of the day at the 83'83' while Juric gets himself expelled for protests at the tail end of a match that does not experience further excitement, at least at the level of play. It ends 0-0, a result that helps neither the Granata nor the Viola in the race to Europe.
