A smashing success, achieved at the end of a very complicated day.

Federica Brignone wins again, and does so with great authority. In fact, the Italian won the super-G in Kvitfjell, the last before the finals in Saalbach. The victory è historic: in fact, it allows her to overtake Mikaela Shiffrin in second place in the overall ranking (ahead of her only Lara Gut-Behrami). But, above all, for her è the success number 25 in her career in the World Cup. And that makes her the most successful Italian ever, ahead of Gustav Thoeni and Sofia Goggia.

The super-G in Kvitfjell è heavily conditioned by the adverse weather conditions: in fact, heavy fog forced the organization to interrupt the rainbow event several times. This però does not distract Federica Brignone, perfect in the most technical section and inspired also in the final phase of the track. Just the one that, since Saturday, had created several headaches for all the azzurre. On the podium with her just Lara Gut-Behrami, second at +0.61, and the Czech Ester Ledecka at +0.79.

For Federica Brignone è it was her fourth success of the season, the first since her superG triumph in Val d'Isere on Dec. 17, 2023. The superG cup still sees Lara Gut-Behrami ahead (by 69 points over Austria's Cornelia Huetter and 74 over Brignone), but the Aosta Valley native will try again in the last round of the season. Further back the other Italians, net of Sofia Goggia's absence due to injury. Marta Bassino closes in fact at 15° place, even moreù back Melesi, Pirovano, Runggaldier, Nicol and Nadia Delago.
