Jordan Gumberg canò rejoice

Jordan Gumberg captured his first career title on the DP World Tour.  On the Jack Nicklaus-designed St. Francis Links (par 72) course in Saint Francis Bay, in South Africa's Eastern Cape, the American (68 69 69 71 68) overcame Robin Williams (69 67 71 69) with a birdie on the second play-off hole.

Francesco Laporta, 16th with 283 (68 71 73, -5) and the best Italian in the competition, came close to making the Top 10. Behind him Matteo Manassero, 36th with 287 (-1) ahead of Lorenzo Scalise, 47th with 290 (+2).

For Gumberg, there was also an interesting financial windfall: with his success over the weekend he è bagged himself a check for 235,904 euros against a total prize pool of 1,380,000.
