Nadal tries again. After being forced into yet another stop (thus skipping the Australian Open), Nadal has Indian Wells in his sights. First, an exhibition match against Alcaraz in Las Vegas to see how he is physically and whether è he is still able to be competitive. A match that will also help him regain certain feelings on the court that he has been missing for some time.

"If I’m here (in Las Vegas, ed.), è it’s good news. Two weeks ago, beyond the results, the goal was to play this match in Las Vegas and be here in Indian Wells, and at this point, I am closer to accomplishing both goals. I don’t know what level it will be at in Indian Wells, but I’m not thinking about that. I am excited to play against Carlos", the words of the Majorcan in the press room.

Nadal also spoke about the possible farewell, definitive, to tennis: "I’m not saying anything because" it would mean admitting that I won’t play anymore. I don’t want to decide when because, at the moment, it’s not 100% clear to me…. I would like to say goodbye well, be competitive and have fun on the field. Whether it can happen or not, the field will tell", the clear words of the 37-year-old Spanish outfielder.
