Great comeback of the frusinate

With a total of 199 (70 66 63, -17) strokes Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli won the New Giza Open staged in Cairo, the Egyptian capital for the Alps Tour. The 27-year-old from Frosinone, in his second career title on the men’s third European circuit, found success for the first time since 2019.

In Egypt, with a last-round bogey free in 62 (-9), enhanced by nine birdies, on the New Giza Golf Club (par 72) course Lipparelli è climbed from fourth position and got the better of Frenchman Aymeric Laussot and England's Harry Goddard, both second with 200 (-16).

The Egyptian exploit netted Lipparelli 5,800 euros against a total prize pool of 40,000 and hoisted him to the top of the 'money list' of the circuit.
