Franco Morbidelli on track in Lusail, green light nears
A largely consoling news, pending the hoped-for green light.
Franco Morbidelli is getting closer to MotoGP, specifically to returning to the track. Indeed, hopes of seeing him participate in the Qatar Grand Prix are growing hour by hour, although the final medical green light is still awaited. The official answer is expected to come later on Thursday. For him it will be the official debut with the Ducati of the Prima Pramac Racing team.
The Roman had been involved in a bad crash in Portimao, in which he suffered a head injury. This mishap, fortunately without serious consequences, had nevertheless forced him to skip the pre-season tests that MotoGP held in Malaysia, at the Sepang circuit. Having sustained an MRI with a favorable outcome in Italy, he now lacks only the last medical check scheduled directly in Lusail.
"I am really happy to have received clearance from the doctors to start the MotoGP season. I can't wait to test my new Ducati, get to know my new team a little bit more and get back to the dynamics of racing. This year for me will represent a turning point in my career, despite this unfortunate episode I want to look only forward", Morbidelli has already stated.
