Tirreno-Adriatico: Jonathan Milan mocked by Phil Bauhaus in the third stage
Tirreno-Adriatico: the third stage è by Phil Bauhaus
The third stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2024, which runs from Volterra to Gualdo Tadino and è the longest of the race, goes to Phil Bauhaus. The German cyclist, bearer of Bahrain Victorius, mocked Jonathan Milan, his former teammate and now with Lidl-Trek, in a sprint. Third was Frenchman Kebin Vaquelin of Arkea-B&B Hotels.
From fourth to seventh place only blue riders: Alberto Bettiol (EF Education-EasyPost), Andrea Vendrame (Decathlon-Ag2r), Simone Velasco (Astana Qazaqstan) and Damiano Caruso (Bahrain Victorious). In the general classification, the leader è always Juan Ayuso, who remains in the blue jersey.
"Honestly, I thought today’s stage was too hard for me,” Bauhaus admitted to the official RCS Sport channels, “but the team believed in me and motivated me since yesterday, bringing me to a perfect position at the last km. I was very focused and I made it. I would also like to win the last stage, Sunday, like two years ago, but I have to be realistic, it will be very difficult becauseè the level of sprinters è very high here".
