Milan, Stefano Pioli half satisfied
Stefano Pioli’s words after Milan-Slavia Prague
The first act of the Europa League round of 16 between AC Milan and Slavia Prague è ended in favor of the Rossoneri 4-2. During the post-match press conference, Meneghini coach Stefano Pioli, despite the victory, did not hide his disappointment for not being able to extend the lead even more, especially considering the numerical superiority they had for almost the entire match.
"We could have done much more; and after finishing the first half with a two-goal lead I expected a second half with more pace. Definitely è a good win and the lead è important ahead of the return match, but the passage of the round è still all to be won" began the Rossoneri coach to the microphones of "Sky Sport".
"We committed small distractions, not very serious mistakes. We had to create something more, they when they were in 11 were already all back, in 10 they closed even more spaces. We needed more speed to be dangerous. The important thing was to come out with a victory, and I am glad we succeeded" added the former Lazio coach.
"Looking ahead to the return leg it will definitely change the tactical canvas, they have to come back two goals and they won't be able to play a waiting game for us. We will have to prepare it well because they have shown that they are a very good team and they will try to play the game of life" concluded Stefano Pioli.
