È it was Jorge Martin the fastest in the first free practice session of the MotoGP class Qatar Grand Prix at the Lusail circuit.
The Spaniard of Ducati Pramac lapped in 1’52”624 ahead of three compatriots: Aleix Espargaró on an Aprilia, 47 thousandths behind, Pedro Acosta on the KTM Red Bull GasGas, author of an extraordinary debut and third at 71 thousandths, and Marc Marquez on the Ducati of Team Gresini, fourth at 177 thousandths.
Fifth è the South African Brad Binder on the official KTM Red Bull, sixth the Frenchman Johan Zarco on the Honda Castrol, seventh Enea Bastianini on the first official Ducati, while his teammate, the world champion Pecco Bagnaia, è tenth, eighth and eighteenth Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi with the Ducati of Valentino Rossi’s team.
Twenty-second and last is the returning Franco Morbidelli on the second Ducati Pramac, the factory Hondas of Joan Mir and Luca Marini are sixteenth and eighteenth, more or less on the same line are the Yamahas of Alex Rins, fifteenth, and Fabio Quartararo, nineteenth. Thirteenth was the second Aprilia, that of Maverick Vinales. Eleventh was Alex Marquez on the second Ducati Gresini.
