Ferrari, Charles Leclerc is blunt: “Achieved the maximum possible”
Charles Leclerc’s words after the Saudi Arabian GP
After dominating the opening race, Red Bull è repeated itself in the second round of the season in Saudi Arabia, sealing another one-two with Max Verstappen ahead of Perez. Rounding out the podium, also on the Jeddah circuit was a Ferrari, namely that of Charles Leclerc, who gave himself an additional satisfaction by snatching the additional point of the fastest lap from the Dutch driver. At the microphones of "Sky Sport F1", the Monegasque driver analyzed his performance without mincing words.
“Today we had a good pace, we also hit the fastest lap in the race, helped by the DRS. My feeling was pretty good, but the race è was boring. In front the Red Bulls were uncatchable, so behind me the pursuers were distant. Let’s say that I won the best possible result” began the Ferrari driver.
“Last year we struggled more”. Today I had less adrenaline since I did not have to fight much. The Jeddah track, as we know, è one of the most difficult on the calendar. It is very hot and physically è exhausting, especially in the neck because of the high speeds” that are held in the corners” continued the 26-year-old.
In conclusion, Charles Leclerc è also dwelt on the performance of Oliver Bearman, who finished his first F1 race in seventh place: "He really completed an incredible job, right from FP3. He found the right pace right away, in qualifying he missed Q3 only because of slipstream games, so today he even finished seventh. All this despite a car he didn’t know. He has extraordinarily impressed me. He must be proud of what he has done. We are not surprised. We know his talent well and è only a matter of time to see him here on a permanent basis”.
