Genoa, Alberto Gilardino goes down flat on bad first half
The words of Alberto Gilardino after Genoa-Monza
After the pyrotechnic 2-3 defeat at the hands of Monza, Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino, among the various topics discussed at the microphones of "Sky Sport", dwelt on the bad first half of his boys, sinceè in the first 45' the Brianzoli found the way of the goal twice and came close on several occasions to the third goal.
"In the first half we did not do well, leaving too much space to Monza in some situations where we knew they could be decisive. What makes us angry, what makes us rosy about the final result, è the first half. In the second half the guys were incredible, they were fierce, we took it back and tried to win it. We have room for improvement, there are moments within the game where we have to turn on the light in our heads. It was a game we had to bring home" began the Rossoblù coach.
"In the first half we had to do moreù forò there’è the awareness of an extraordinary second half. Not è a physical aspect, maybe more; a mental aspect becauseé going down by two goals is not è easy. We were turning the ball over too slowly and we struggled. In the second half there’è a lot of positive stuff. Good as an attitude, as one-on-one duels, as attacks on the goal and as chances. On the third goal there’è to file as well as in the other goals taken" continued the former Fiorentina striker.
"We must continue to grow tactically. Changes in form are assumptions that serve to express the potential we have. Now we have to think about recovering energy, a complicated challenge awaits us against a very strong opponent and we will face it in the best way" concluded Alberto Gilardino.
