Jasmine Paolini dominated Tathiana Maria with a net 6-3, 6-3 at the BNP Paribas Open, the third WTA 1000 tournament of the season, held in Indian Wells with a prize pool of $9,258,080. This victory moved Paolini into the third round for the third time in four appearances at the California tournament. The 28-year-old player, originally from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, currently ranked 14ª in the WTA rankings and 13ª seeded, will face; Anna Kalinskaya for a place in the round of 16. Kalinskaya è was the opponent Paolini defeated in the final of the Dubai Open a few weeks ago, where she won her first WTA 1000 title and made her way into the Top 15.
