MotoGP Qatar: Martin wins first Sprint Race, Bagnaia fourth
Victory for Jorge Martin in the first Sprint Race of the MotoGp World Championship season. In Qatar, the Ducati Pramac team centaur was ahead of KTM rider Brad Binder and Aprilia centaur Aleix Espargarò. Fourth place for world champion Pecco Bagnaia, who had problems in the final part of the race with the tires, fifth Marc Marquez, in his first official outing as a Team Gresini rider.
Jorge Martin held the lead in a tight race from the first to the last lap. On the third lap big scare for Di Giannantonio, who fell in the middle of the track è was dodged by the other centaurs.
Also in the Top Ten were Enea Bastianini, Alex Marquez, rookie Pedro Acosta, the other Aprilia rider Maverick Vinales and KTM’s Jack Miller. Marco Bezzecchi finished 11th, while Fabio Quartararo è had to settle for 12th place. Among the disappointing riders certainly Franco Morbidelli, only 20th with the Pramac team, and Luca Marini, 21st on a Honda.
