Llorente and Svilar save Roma: 2-2 in Florence
Fiorentina-Roma 2-2
The Sunday post-match of Serie A’s 28th day ended in a goal- and emotion-filled draw between Fiorentina and Roma. At the Franchi, the Viola took a two-goal lead and also squandered a penalty at 2-1, being caught by the Giallorossi as time expired, who found the equalizer with a great goal by Llorente.
Roma started well, but è Fiorentina took the lead: on 18', on Maxime Lopez's corner kick, Nico Gonzalez spiked it and Ranieri found the winning deflection with his header. The Viola has two chances to double but first Svilar and then Paredes on the line keep the Giallorossi afloat.
At the beginning of the second half Cristante engages Terracciano with a low shot. Eight minutes later the Capitolini found the equalizer with Aouar, who took advantage of Ranieri’s deflection and beat Terracciano with a precise header. At 69' però the hosts went back ahead: cross by Biraghi for Belotti who backs up to the incoming Mandragora, who beats Svilar. At 80' the referee concedes a penalty to Viola but Biraghi gets hypnotized by Svilar. The mistake cost dearly because at 95'Roma evened the score: on the last playable ball N'Dicka makes the bank for Llorente who lets off an impregnable right-footer, which slips under the cross.
Roma moves up to 48, gaining a point in the standings over Bologna, fourth and now three points behind. Fiorentina rises to 43, -1 from Napoli, seventh.
