Lewis Hamilton inferior to Max Verstappen? Ralf Schumacher has no doubt
The comparison between the two world champions è ruthless.
Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari driver since 2025, and Max Verstappen have been the undisputed dominators of the last decade of Formula 1. The Briton in particular reached seven world titles in 2020 in his trophy cabinet, the same number as those won by Michael Schumacher. Yet Ralf, the Kaiser’s brother, now considers him inferior to his Dutch rival.
"Obviously we are talking about a fantastic driver, as he è graduated seven times world champion – said Ralf Schumacher in an interview granted to the Germans of 'Formel1.de' -. I believe, however, that he does not have the qualities of Verstappen, because he does not have the same consistency as Max. Compared to him, he cannot always eliminate that tenth of a second gap, whatever it takes".
Ralf Schumacher then dwelt on Ferrari's operation, which has decided to hire Lewis Hamilton starting in 2025. Year in which the current Mercedes driver will turn 40. "Porterà experience and insight, but I think they are already on the right track in Maranello. Lewis will contribute, but up to a point. That said, I am sure Vasseur does not want to spend a lot of money for nothing. So he will give Lewis every possible means to achieve maximum results", said the former Jordan, Williams and Toyota driver.
