Alps Hockey League, heavy hand on Skalde and Borgatello

The Alps Hockey League semifinals begin Tuesday. The Rittner Buam SkyAlps will face the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan – the Collalbo-based team, winners of the Master Round, have won all four of their season-long derbies this season. As in the previous season, SG Cortina Hafro and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors will face each other in the second "best-of-seven" series.
The head coach of HC Meran/o Pircher, Jarrod Skalde (unsportsmanlike conduct), and HCM defenseman Christian Borgatello (stick strike) were suspended for three games each. Skalde è was also fined 1,000.00 euros (500.00 euros with probation).
Both incidents occurred in the fifth match of the quarterfinal series against S.G. Cortina Hafro (Thursday, March 14 at the Olympic Stadium).
