Catalonia Tour: Nick Schultz mocks Tadej Pogacar in sprint on debut
The first stage of the Tour of Catalonia 2024 ends with a success for Austrian Nick Schultz. The Israel-Premier Tech rider, in fact, è won the first stage of the Spanish race starting in Sant Feliu de Guixols by beating Slovenian Tadej Pogacar and teammate Stephen Williams in a sprint. Completing the top 5 were Dorian Godon and Axel Laurence.
In sixth position was Rémy Rochas of the Groupama – FDJ team, who was ahead of Ilan Van Wilder (Soudal Quick-Step) and Aleksandr Vlasov (BORA – hansgrohe). Completing the top 10 were Sepp Kuss ( Team Visma | Lease a Bike) and Harold Tejada (Astana Qazaqstan Team).
The second stage will be staged on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 with departure from Matarò and arrival in Vall de Camprodon in a total distance of 186.5 km.
