Salernitana, yet another turnaround official: away with Liverani, in with Colantuono and Ribery
Salernitana, official yet another turn: away Liverani, there are Colantuono and Ribery
Yet another change on the bench for Salernitana: after Paulo Sousa and Filippo Inzaghi, Fabio Liverani è was also exonerated after the home defeat against Lecce, the sixth consecutive knockout between home walls for the Campani. Liverani's adventure è lasted just five games, where the granata garnered just one point.
Ownership thus decided to turn again in a last-ditch effort to shake up the team, which is last in the Serie A standings. Replacing Liverani until the end of the season will be Stefano Colantuono, head of Salernitana’s youth sector.
In the technical staff there will also beà room for Franck Ribery: the French star will remain in Campania until the end of the season, when his contract expires. His future seems to be at Bayern Munich, as coach of one of the youth teams.
"U.S. Salernitana 1919 announces that it has relieved Mr. Fabio Liverani together with his staff from the position of First Team coach. In thanking him for his work, the Società wishes the technician the best professional luck for the continuation of his career. The Società also announces that it has entrusted the technical guidance of the first team to Mr. Stefano Colantuono, who has already led the Granata in the 2017/18 season and in Serie A in the 2021/22 season boasts 243 benches in the top division and who will lead the team until the end of the season. The Società, certain of the maximum commitment and dedication of coach Colantuono, bound by strong love and respect for Salerno and Salernitana, intends to extend to the technician the’best wishes for this final season".
