ATP 2025, what’s new in the provisional calendar

The ATP has released the provisional calendar for the 2025 season. Sixty tournaments are scheduled in 29 countries: the much talked about Saudi Arabia appears only as the site of the Next gen ATP Finals in Jeddah.

News includes the 12-day upgrade of the Toronto/Montreal and Cincinnati Masters 1000, which follows the homologous expansion of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, the Mutua Madrid Open and the Rolex Shanghai Masters in 2023. After the Foro Italico, the ATP 250 in Geneva and the Hamburg 500, brought forward by a couple of months, will be played at the same time before Roland Garros.

The ATP 500 becomes 16; in fact, the Dallas Open, the Qatar ExxonMobil Open (Doha) and the BMW Open (Munich) will be promoted. Gone, however, are the Estoril ATP 250, which will not be replaced, and the Cordoba Open whose place on the calendar will be taken by a 250 in Mallorca on grass before Wimbledon. Also changing dates is the Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo, ATP 250 in Los Cabos, which will switch from February to July.

No new tournaments in Saudi Arabia are on the calendar: the Arabs'entry into the tennis world for now has è resulted in a few exhibitions, the choice of Jeddah as the venue for the Next Gen ATP Finals, and a partnership with ATP for sponsorship of the rankings and several tournaments.
