Charles Leclerc explains what went wrong
The words of Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc explained what went wrong in qualifying for the Australian GP to the microphones of Sky Sports: “The pole position? Maybe we underestimated the power that Red Bull put in qualifying, in FP3 between turn seven and nine we were losing more than we thought".
"We did not maximize the car, I was hoping to get the feeling back in qualifying after FP3 and instead I lost it. Now we have to think about Sunday, hoping that the race pace will bring us back to our position", added the Monegasque Ferrari driver.
"Fridayì the front was good, in qualifying we lost it. I went aggressive in Q3, maybe I would have done better to take third place, but I wanted to try something and I was too aggressive. There are four DRS zones and everything è possible, the race pace is not è bad, the podium è the target. For the victory? Red Bull’s pace, barring surprises, è better than ours".
