Lorenzo Musetti wins and convinces in Miami: Roman Safiullin knocked out in two sets
Just over an hour and a half to advance to the next round.
Lorenzo Musetti beat Roman Safiullin in two sets, earning him access to the round of 16 at the Miami Masters 1000. No particular headache for the Tuscan, able to impose himself in two sets, managing with great ease the second one in particular. This is demonstrated by the final score: 7-5, 6-1. In the next round he will face the non-trivial challenge with the American Ben Shelton.
For Musetti, the match seemed to go badly in the first game, in which Safiullin snatched his serve. Alreadyà in the next game forò comes the counterbreak of the Carrara tennis player, who is then able to lead 4-2. Again è immediate the counterbreak leading to 4-3, decisive then becomes the twelfth game. And here, with Safiullin serving, è Musetti to score the point that earned him the set on his second personal attempt.
Decidedly more downhill is the path in the next set, which in fact closes in less than half an hour. Here Safiullin remains to stay in the match in only the second game, which closed to his advantage without conceding any points to Musetti. The blue però then managed to string a string of five games in a row to his advantage, including two breaks both won at the first attempt. Easy, at that point, to close the score in the seventh game with the opponent now no longer able to respond.
