Mads Pedersen beats Mathieu van der Poel at Ghent-Wevelgem

Denmark’s Mads Pedersen, world champion in 2019, beat Mathieu van der Poel, the eve’s favorite and reigning rainbow winner, and è took Ghent-Wevelgem.

At the finish line of the northern classic, the Lidl-Trek rider took his second success in the Flemish classic, on the 253.1-kilometer course preceding the Dutchman in a two-man sprint.

Third at 16'', and first in the chasing group, Belgian Jordi Meeus. Best Italian Jonathan Milan, fifth, while Matteo Trentin finished in 10th place.

In the corresponding women’s race, over the distance of 171 km, Elisa Balsamo è placed second, beaten only by’Dutch Lorena Wiebes at the photo finish in the final sprint.
