Marc Marquez on Pecco Bagnaia: “Maybe too optimistic.”

Marc Marquez dà his side of the story about the collision with Pecco Bagnaia, which forced both of them to end the MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix without winning a single point. The two collided in Turn 5 on lap 23 out of 25 overall, both crashing. The Catalan of the Gresini team then finished the Portimao race, but only in 16th place.

"It è was a race accident – è was the reconstruction of Marquez, reached at the end of the day by the microphones of 'Sky Sport' -. We ended up on the ground, and this è really bad for both of us. Obviously we didn’t want to end up with 0 points, but è that’s how it è turned out".

Marquez then reconstructed the moment of his collision with Bagnaia: "Pecco was suffering a lot, but I waited for my moment. If I had not tried to pass him lì, on the next lap I would have passed in front anyway. He tried to cross the line to take back the position, maybe è he was too optimistic. I was on the outside and at that point unfortunately I couldn&#39t do much. Anyway, these are things that can happen" on the track.
