Matteo Arnaldi doesn’t stop, also beat Denis Shapovalov
First eighth final in a Masters 1000 for Matteo Arnaldi who in Miami in just over an hour and a half of play, with also a rain interruption in the middle of the first set, beat Canadian Denis Shapovalov with a score of 6-3 7-6. The 23-year-old from San Remo will now face the winner between Czech Tomas Machac and British former world No. 1 Andy Murray.
The score follows services until 3-2 Arnaldi, Shapovalov finds himself 15-40 up on his own serve but here the match is broken and when it resumes the North American immediately loses serve. Soon after, Arnaldi saves three balls of the’immedtao counterbreak and shortly after closes on the first set point.
In the second partial è again the blue to break first in the fifth game and to take first 4-2 and then 5-3 but when he serves for the match on 5-4 he loses his service to zero. It goes to the tiebreak with Arnaldi having a first match point on 6-5, canceling a set point to Shapovalov on 7-6 but the second match point on 8-7 è the good one.
