Acerbi not sanctioned: Napoli puts word ‘justice’ in quotes
Naples takes a stand
Following the Sports Judge’s decision not to sanction Francesco Acerbi for the events of Inter-Napoli last March 17, the Campania club has taken a position with a statement released through its official channels late Tuesday afternoon.
"Mr. Acerbi has not è been sanctioned. At this point the culprit should, for "justice" sports, be Juan Jesus, who allegedly accused a colleague unfairly. It è not reasonable to think that he misunderstood. The principle of greater probability of an event, widely visible from the dynamics of the facts and his apology on the field, which in sports justice è taken into account, disappears in this ruling. We remain bashful" reads the note.
"Moreover,” the club continues in the note, “if what happened on the field, the ruling says, 'è surely compatible with the expression of insults addressed … by the Inter player, and not disavowed in their offensive and threatening tenor by the same', whyé not impose on the latter any sanction? Why, then, the ruling always says so, 'since the proof of the offense'was certainly reached, no decision è was taken by the 'sports justice' in this regard to punish the perpetrator? We remain even more'astonished".
"Napoli will no longer adhere" to mere façade initiatives of football institutions against racism and discrimination, we will continue to do them ourselves, as we have always done, with renewed conviction and determination" announces the Neapolitan club.
