Alexander Zverev returns to semifinals in Miami

Alexander Zverev reached his 17th semifinal in a Masters 1000 tournament, his second in Miami after 2018. He defeated Fabian Marozsan with a break in the last game of the first set and another in the final game of the second, thus completing his 24th win in his last twenty-six matches against opponents outside the Top 50.

Marozsan, whoè was the real surprise in the tournament by eliminating Holher Rune and Alex de Minaur, will nonetheless become the fourth Hungarian in the Top 50 as of Monday, with the real time projection of the ATP ranking placing him at 38º world place.

The quality of the match was not particularly high, partly because of the difficulties imposed by the hot, strong wind blowing in gusts. Alexander Zverev will now face the winner of the match between Alcaraz and Dimitrov.
