Alexander Zverev overreaches on Jannik Sinner
Alexander Zverev has no doubts about Jannik Sinner
A few hours before the challenge against Grigor Dimitrov valid for a place in the final at the Miami Masters 1000, Alexander Zverev, among other topics covered during a press conference, dwelt on the potential of Jannik Sinner, who will be engaged in the other semifinal against Russian Daniil Medvedev.
"I don't think he's that bad (laughs ed.). He won the Australian Open, he won in Rotterdam and he has only lost one match out of 20 this year. I think if you have this kind of stats, è it makes sense that you are on your way to becoming the best" began the German tennis player.
"I don't know if he will be as unbeatable as he has shown so far in the remainder of the season, but such a roll of the dice è definitely something incredible. It's a statistic that only the likes of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal have had in the past. If he continues to play at this level, not only will he be able to become world number one, but he will have all the makings to stay at the top for the next ten years. It will be up to him to try to confirm himself, and up to me, Carlos, Daniil and Novak to try to prevent him from doing so" added the 1997-class tennis player.
"As you grow you mature. You understand that if you did everything you could to prepare, then even if you lose you have nothing to complain about, becauseè you feel you gave it your all. It took me maybe more years than others to realize this, but I think I have achieved this awareness and maturity, even in the mental aspect"” Alexander Zverev commented.
