Peter Malnati returns to success after nine years

Peter Malnati triumphed on the PGA Tour after a gap of nine years, four months and 16 days, winning the Valspar Championship in Florida. The American athlete recorded a total score of 272 strokes (66 71 68 67, -12), commanding the tournament. Competing on the Copperhead Course at Palm Harbor's Innisbrook Resort, the 36-year-old native of New Castle, Indiana, prevailed over Cameron Young, his compatriot, who è finished second with 274 strokes (-10), followed by Chandler Phillips, also an American, third with 275 strokes (-9), tied with Canadian Mackenzie Hughes.
"It's a dream come true. I cannot describe the emotions I am feeling" said Malnati. The success earned him $1,512,000 against a total prize pool of $8,400,000.
