ATP Marrakech: bitter elimination for Flavio Cobolli, passes Pavel Kotov
ATP Marrakech: Pavel Kotov-Flavio Cobolli 6-1 7-6
Flavio Cobolli's adventure at the ATP 250 Marrakech ends in the second round. The Italian tennis player, in fact, è was defeated in two sets by Russian Pavel Kotov with a score of 6-1 7-6, in 1 hour and 58 minutes. Bitter elimination for the native of Florence, who paid dearly for the numerous errors he made, as evidenced by the zero break points converted on seven attempts.
In the first set Cobolli sins considerably in terms of concreteness, as he fails to concretize the four break points obtained between the first and seventh games. Kotov, for his part, è skillfully steered the match in his favor and took advantage of his opportunities in response, filing the first partial with a score of 6-1.
The second set turns out to be more balanced than the first, but the blue tennis player continues to lack polish, as evidenced by several untapped break points. Even in the tie-break there is no shortage of regrets for Cobolli, who in a 5-3 lead fails the opportunity to earn three set points by missing a fairly comfortable forehand. Kotov immediately took advantage of his rival's lack of concreteness to place the decisive stretch and win the tie-break 7 to 5.
In the quarterfinals, the Russian tennis player will face the winner of the match between Fabio Fognini and Serbia's Laslo Djere (No. 1 seed).
