Frederic Vasseur comments on Japan GP qualifying

.

Frederic Vasseur, at the microphones of 'Sky Sport', commented on the qualifying result of the two Ferraris (fourth place for Carlos Sainz, eighth for Charles Leclerc), focusing in particular on the difficulties of the Monegasque and  framing the moment that affected the qualifying of the number 16 at the wheel of the Cavallino.

"I think the mistake was that we jeopardized the first lap in Q1, from there on we were always late and in Q3 Charles could only make one launched attempt, while the others made two. However between Sainz's fourth place and Russell's ninth place there's practically a tenth, in my opinion we lose something too much in the last part, from the chicane onwards, we have to understand why'".

The Cavallino team principal has moderate confidence for the race: "We showed a good pace in practice, foré we can not make precise comparisons becauseé we do not know the mappings and the level of fuel used by the other teams. The degradation of the tires è good but Sunday will be important the first lap, overtaking in Suzuka è very difficult".

"It&#39s difficult to have a clear picture about tomorrow&#39s race,” Vasseur further explained, “we are all very close, from fourth place on. We aim to keep a good control of tire degradation but above all, the start will be decisive. It's a shame about the grid positions, but we will try".
