Jannik Sinner (and Matteo Berrettini), now it’s Massimo Gramellini’s turn
Even Gramellini has his say
Even Massimo Gramellini, in the Corriere della Sera, had his say on Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini, two of the tennis world’s best-known faces even off the court, taking his cue from recent statements by an American ball boy, who promoted the two athletes from the Bel Paese.
"The short list of gentlemen in good times and bad includes our Sinner and Berrettini, and è amazing that among the Italians for export there are two soì far from the stereotype that paints us arrogant with the humble and servile with the powerful" argued Gramellini among others.
"Sinner, in particular, è popular among ball catchers halfway around the world ever since he held the umbrella to a representative of the category during a storm interruption, asking her if she played tennis and how her job worked" he added, focusing particularly on the incident that occurred in Indian Wells, during the interruption of the match against Carlos Alcaraz.
"Being interested in what other people say and do, or at least giving the impression of it: in part Sinner will come naturally, but I guess, like everything else, it is also the result of hard training" Gramellini then continued.
"Having lost all hope of imitating his right, I would settle for learning his kindness" the journalist s conclusion.
