Matteo Berrettini regains final in Marrakech, beats Mariano Navone in comeback

ATP Marrakech: Matteo Berrettini-Mariano Navone 6-7 6-3 6-2

It's final for Matteo Berrettini at the Marrakech ATP 250. The Roman tennis player, in fact, è won in a comeback over Argentina's Mariano Navone with the score of 6-7 6-3 6-2, after two hours and forty-five of play, gaining the chance to win a tournament a year and a half after the last time (October 2022 in Naples).

Berrettini started the match well, with two fairly quiet service rounds, allvià however, he could not be equally effective in response. In the fifth game, then, comes a drop for the blue tennis player, who commits three errors in a row, suffering the break by Navone, who manages to manage the lead until he goes to serve for the set, in which the Roman è skillful to raise the level of his game and bring the score back to parity. In the tie-break è again the Argentine took the lead and won the first partial.

In the second set, the momentum shifted in favor of Berrettini, who managed to break his opponent immediately in the second game. The Italian, after consolidating the lead, places another acceleration in the ninth game taking another break and winning the second set with the score of 6-3.

In the third set, Navone suffered the psychological backlash and in a short time ended up down 3-0. From that moment on, Berrettini managed to stay very focused during his serves and close out the games at the first match point.

In the final of the ATP 250 in Marrakech, the Italian will face the Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena.
