The words of Jannik Sinner

Tuesday; Jannik Sinner makes his return to Italy, where a warm embrace from his family and supporters awaits him after his extraordinary victory at the Australian Open. After a few hours of well-deserved rest, Thursday will be a special day for the young tennis player, as he will visit the Quirinale for a meeting with the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.

This appointment will take place in the company of his Italian teammates, Arnaldi, Sonego, Musetti and Bolelli, who triumphed in the Davis Cup. They will be accompanied by Federtennis president Binaghi and coach Volandri. Initially scheduled for December, the meeting è was postponed due to the tennis players’ winter vacation ahead of their departure for Australia.

For Jannik Sinner, this will be a moment of double celebration: on the one hand, he will celebrate the historic victory in Malaga with the Italian team, 47 years after the 1976 feat; on the other, he will celebrate the incredible victory in his first Slam in Melbourne, where he defeated Medvedev in the final. "The speech? I still have to prepare it. I have been a little bit caught up", he joked in Corriere della Sera.
