Carlos Alcaraz: stop in training in Monte Carlo

Stop in training for Carlos Alcaraz. The Murcia-based tennis player, who recently arrived in Monte Carlo for the just-started Masters 1000, reported an arm problem and decided to end his training session prematurely on the Principality’s clay court. The No. 3 ranked ATP player, who plans redemption after losing second place to Jannik Sinner, decided to stop as a precaution due to pain felt in his right forearm.

Photos on social media show Alcaraz training with a conspicuous bandage on his right arm: his condition will be monitored in the coming hours. In 2023, the Murcia tennis player had not participated in the Principality’s tournament, while Sinner had made it all the way to the semifinals.

"Being number two or three in the world doesn’t affect me, it doesn’t change much" said the Spaniard in a press conference. "I rested a little bit after Miami and I have already started training on the ground. I am a player who adapts very well to the surface, it does not take me long to play at my best level". Alcaraz will debut directly in the second round, just like Sinner and the other top seeds.
