Davide Frattesi at last gasp: Inter overturns Udinese and moves closer to second star
Udinese-Inter 1-2
Inter struggled more than expected but continued their run toward winning the Scudetto. In the final match of the 31st day of Serie A, in fact, the Nerazzurri managed to overturn Udinese thanks to a goal scored in the final minutes of the match.
The first chance è for Inter on 21’: Calhanoglu from outside the box let off a precise right-footed shot that was neutralized by an excellent intervention by Okoye. Nine minutes later è again the Turk to make himself dangerous always from the distance and also in this case he finds a good response from the Friulian extreme defender.
In the Nerazzurri’s best moment, however, comes Udinese’s goal at 40’: Kamara serves Samardzic who lets off a cross-shot that is deflected into the net by Carlos Augusto. The Nerazzurri reaction was not long in coming, as two minutes later Lautaro Martinez again engaged Okoye with a header.
A few minutes after the start of the second half, Inter managed to find the equalizing goal with Carlos Augusto, but the VAR cancels everything for offside by the former Monza side. The regret, however, lasted very little, as at 55'the 1-1 goal came thanks to Calhanoglu who converted the penalty kick won by Thuram.
After the round of changes, the match becomes much more broken up with both teams feeling a bit tired. In the final minutes, however, Udinese’s fortress collapsed and Inter found the goal of the definitive 1-2: Lautaro, on Arnautovic’s bank, concluded towards the goal, finding another great response from Okoye, but on the rebound Frattesi was the quickest to rush and deposit the ball in the net, giving the three points to the meneghini.
Thanks to this success, Simone Inzaghi’s team rises to 82 points to +14 over second-placed Milan, while the Friulians remain at 28, just two points ahead of the relegation zone.
