Lorenzo Musetti deserves Novak Djokovic

Lorenzo Musetti has won passage to the round of 16 at the Monte Carlo tournament. The 22-year-old native of Carrara currently ranked #24º in the ATP rankings, after having demonstrated his determination with a two-set victory over the U.S. Fritz, number 13 in the rankings and seeding, granted an encore against Frenchman Arthur Fils.

The 20-year-old from Bondoufle, ranked 36º in the world rankings, è was defeated with the score of 6-3, 7-5, in an intense match that took an hour and forty minutes of play and in which Musetti only suffered a passing fault.

The Italian number two, behind of course Jannik Sinner, will play in the next round a place in the quarters with world number one Novak Djokovic, beaten on the very same courts twelve months ago in the previous edition of the Monaco tournament.
