Sprint start in Monte Carlo but it’s the usually uncontentious Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner satisfied with debut in Monte Carlo
Here are the words of Jannik Sinner at the end of his debut match in the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, in which he literally dominated with the score of 6-1 6-2 the American son of art Sebastian Korda, world number 27.
"It wasn’t an easy match, despite the score. I think that me and 'Sebi' (Korda, ed.) have a similar style of play: since we both prefer concrete, we don't play like the classic clay specialists but we like to hit rather flat and it's come out a bit of a different match'.
“I moved quite well in these conditions and I am satisfied with this first match on clay. The serve will be important in the next rounds, we hope to improve the percentages and especially to use some rotation”, continued the world number 2.
“Every year è hard to come here and perform well, but I am happy with how I played today. Let's see what will happen in the next round", concluded the South Tyrolean who tomorrow in the round of 16 will face German Jan-Lennard Struff, winner yesterday in two sets against Croatian Borna Coric.
