The words of Goran Ivanisevic

Novak Djokovic's former coach, Goran Ivanisevic, speaking at the microphones of Sportal.blic spoke about the complicated moment the Serbian champion is going through: "Training è one thing, matches are another. You have to train. I see a lot of people criticizing him for his lack of motivation, but this man has broken all records, won everything he could win, and it isn&#39t easy to get motivated again and again. If you don’t train, you can’t expect great things".

The fact that Nole is still at zero titles since the beginning of the season è surely also due to the rise of Jannik Sinner: "Novak è a genius and adapts easily to matches, and if you tie his hands and feet there are players he will beat; but against these two, that is; Sinner and Alcaraz, è a little bit more difficult. Jannik and Carlos are currently five points ahead of everyone else, and I am not just talking about Novak".

"But I repeat it for the umpteenth time, it all depends on him, his motivation, where he plays and how he presents himself on the court" concluded Ivanisevic on Novak Djokovic, who chose to skip the Madrid Masters 1000 to prepare for the Internazionali d'Italia and Roland-Garros, a big goal on clay.

Goran Ivanisevic è been Novak Djokovic’s coach for six years, from 2018 to 2024. Under the Croatian coach’s management, the Serbian tennis player has won 12 Grand Slam titles, half of the total majors achieved in his career (24).
