Katsuragawa makes no mistake

Yuto Katsuragawa triumphed for the second time in his career in the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan, an event he had already won in 2022. The tournament was held in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture, where Katsuragawa made a remarkable comeback in the final round, starting from eighth place and posting an impressive 63 (-7), equaling the course record. 

With an overall score of 263 strokes (-17), the Japanese golfer edged out Sweden&#39s Sebastian Soderberg, who finished second with 266 (-14), and Japan&#39s Ryosuke Kinoshita, who was third along with Spain&#39s Ivan Cantero, Germany&#39s Marcel Schneider and South Africa&#39s Christiaan Bezuidenhout, all at 268 (-12). 

The Italians’ performances were not brilliant: Filippo Celli and Francesco Laporta finished tied for 42° place with 275 (-5), while Lorenzo Scalise è ranked 60° with 279 (-1).  For Katsuragawa, who has been playing as a professional since 2020, è came a gain of $382,500 from a total prize pool of $2,250,000, and the success allowed him  to enter the Top 25 of the Race to Dubai.
