F1, Charles Leclerc has clear ideas about Adrian Newey
The future of Newey è at the center of a thousand debates in Formula 1
The news of his imminent separation from Red Bull has generated a tsunami in Formula 1. Everyone is wondering where Newey, the genius behind the Austrian team’s many victories, will go next. Many are convinced that Newey, eager to try something new, is betrothed to Ferrari. Clearly, Leclerc hopes so, too.
"I did not expect the news of his farewell, è one of those unexpected things that makes the rounds. Of course if he came to Ferrari I would be happy. There is no person bigger or more important than a team, but he has shown that wherever he goes then there is success", the words of the Monegasque driver on the media day of the Miami GP.
In short, Leclerc would be thrilled to be able to work with the man who è considered, by all, a true innovator, capable of devising winning single-seaters. Exactly what Ferrari is looking for and, in particular, Leclerc, who is desperate for that World Championship he has wanted since his first day in Formula 1.
At the moment, nothing is yet known about Newey’s future. To date, the only certainty è the statement from the Red Bull team to make his farewell official: "The Team announces that Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey will leave the Red Bull Technology Group in the first quarter of 2025". Ferrari awaits him with open arms but there are also those who think he might consider other solutions. Unlikely retirement (he is 65 years old).
