Jannik Sinner, the reasons for absence in Rome: more clarification forthcoming
A painful forfeit, on which all necessary clarifications are forthcoming.
Jannik Sinner in Rome for the Internazionali d'Italia will not be there. He himself made it official later Saturday, explaining that he is still struggling with the same physical problems with his hip that had already forced him to withdraw from the Madrid Masters 1000 tournament. This may not prevent him from still graduating No. 1 on the ATP circuit at Roland Garros, but in any case soon there will be further clarity on the situation.
After his announcement arrived via social media, in fact, Sinner will meet with the press on Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. This will be the occasion in which he will explain in even more detail what the physical problems are that will prevent him from showing up at the Foro Italico and competing for the Internazionali d'Italia.
What is being whispered è that Sinner is struggling with a bone marrow edema, discovered by a CT scan after the MRI he underwent after Madrid. A problem that would make it decidedly more prudent to take a break ahead of the continuation of a season that could bring further great satisfaction.
"It è not easy to write this message but after talking again with doctors and specialists about my hip problems I have to announce that I will unfortunately not be able to play in Rome. Obviously I am very sad not to have recovered, as it is one of my favorite tournaments ever.I will now work with my team and doctors to be ready for Roland Garros", Sinner wrote on his social channels.
