Gian Piero Gasperini’s statements after the success with Salernitana

After the comeback success against Salernitana that allowed Atalanta to hook Roma in fifth place, Orobici coach Gian Piero Gasperini, in post-match interviews, dwelt on the busy schedule that awaits his boys, with a focus on the challenge with Fiorentina, for which a date for the recovery has not yet been found.

"We have been taking the field for a long time for three times a week and this aspect in the long run has penalized us. It isn’t è our fault that we still don’t know the date for the recovery with Fiorentina, but in that circumstance è something dramatic happened and you have to realize that it wasn’t a code yellow. We did not take any advantage, that must be clear. They also put the recovery with Inter in the middle between Milan and Bologna and for us è it was a negative challenge. It's a problem with the high number of matches in a short time" began the Nerazzurri coach.

"Both with Marseille and Roma we will be able to count on a buzzing environment. In Rome there will be a big exodus to support us. The most difficult match to prepare è was definitely this one, for the others we will put a higher focus. Next Sunday is not è decisive, only when there will be mathematics we can make other types of reasoning" continued the coach of the Bergamasks.

"Salernitana has merits. It's a team that è relegated, which has experienced many situations but has values. To beat them you need to be fully on the ball. In the first half we came up short from the point of view of quality, wasting dangerous chances through superficiality. If you stay at 0-0 you can manage, if you go into a disadvantage you become rushed. Fortunately, we put it back on track in the second half" added the former Genoa coach.

"I understand that there is curiosityà around my future, but now is not the right time, as we have little time to prepare on the tactical level a Europa League semifinal return match, a historic challenge for Atalanta that could go to play a final of an international competition. Then on Sunday we have Roma, a direct clash for the Champions League, then the Coppa Italia final with Juventus. To conclude we will have the challenges with Lecce, Torino and the potential recovery with Fiorentina. I don’t know when we will have time to talk about my future" concluded Gian Piero Gasperini.
