Jannik Sinner, concern mounts: Adriano Panatta gets out of line
Jannik Sinner forced to stop: Adriano Panatta's opinion
Jannik Sinner's withdrawal from participation in the Internazionali d'Italia continues to make noise: the hip injury manifested in Madrid, which forced the South Tyrolean to a forced stop, is raising the concern of fans and insiders, also in view of the Roland Garros that will kick off in the last days of May.
Adriano Panatta, at the microphones of 'Rai Sport', expressed his concern: "The team that follows Sinner è very prepared and will have made all the necessary evaluations,” he said, “but I am a little afraid for his presence at Roland Garros: Jannik has to be stationary for several days and then go on court to face a slam on clay. In such contexts either you are 100 percent or you don’t have to play".
"When Sinner è at the top of his game, he is the best in the world,” added Panatta. “Toò play when you have doubt about your physical condition fuels the risks. The fear of getting hurt canò become a woodworm: I hope he is well and can play Roland Garros, otherwise better to think about Wimbledon and the Olympic Games".
Panatta also had his say on the numerous injuries of top players: "Alcaraz and Lehecka get hurt because theyé pull very hard, these rackets give the possibilityé to do it but with this risk. Sinner has a hip problem probably due to the hard courts, which do not allow for a soft stroke. All thisò affects the stronger players, those who go further in tournaments and play more matches: it canò become a problem".
