Atalanta beat Roma 2-1 in the Sunday Serie A post-match match that was in fact a direct clash for qualification to the next Champions League.
Gasperini’s side dominated in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead thanks to a double by De Ketelaere in two minutes between 18' and 20' of the first half, wasting the knockout blow on several occasions and also hitting two posts.
Roma, però, at the first opportunity reopened the match with a penalty by Pellegrini, even touching the equalizer in the final but failing to avoid in the end a very heavy knockout in view of Champions. Bologna and Juve, at a distance, can meanwhile celebrate qualification to Europe’s top competition.
