Marc Marquez ignites the market
Marc Marquez, at Le Mans, experienced a star-studded Sunday: first the comeback that took him from 13th to second place (with a last-lap overtaking of Pecco Bagnaia), then the declarations destined to inflame the rider market ahead of 2025. Indeed, the eight-time world champion, at the microphones of 'Sky Sport' made known his intentions for next year.
"Next year I want a bike at the latest evolution – sentenced the Catalan rider, who this season rides a Desmosedici GP23 for Team Gresini -. I would have more chances to fight for the World Championship. It does not matter the color of the bike, né the brand: I have very clear ideas on this matter".
"When I decided to come to Ducati,” Marquez added, “I knew it was the strongest bike. I chose it to see what I was still capable of doing, also because I had started to have doubts about myself. Now I don't have any, I'm competitive. That is whyé for next season I want a bike at the latest evolution".
Marquez, 31 years old last Feb. 17, è in his first season riding a Ducati. In his first five race weekends, he has scored two second-place finishes in Sprint Races (Portugal and Texas) and as many in Grand Prix (Spain and France). On the eve of his home Grand Prix, in Catalonia, è third in the overall standings, along with Enea Bastianini, with 89 points, behind only Jorge Martin (129) and Pecco Bagnaia (91).
