Ferrari shops at Mercedes’ home
Ferrari, official the arrival of two engineers from Mercedes
Ferrari is shopping at Mercedes. The Maranello stable, in fact, announced the arrival of two new reinforcements: they are Loic Serra and Jerome d’Ambrosio, both coming from the Mercedes AMG F1 team.
Loic Serra goes to the role of Head of Chassis Performance Engineering, reporting to Enrico Cardile. In Maranello he will coordinate the work of several departments, including Track Engineering, Aero Development, Aero Operations and Vehicle Performance. Loic è born in France in 1972 è graduated in mechanical engineering and studied in Aix-en-Provence and Paris. In 1996 after graduation he worked at Michelin and in Formula 1 in BMW-Sauber and Mercedes AMG F1 team.
Jerome d’Ambrosio instead assumes the role of Deputy Team Principal reporting directly to the Team Principal, Fred Vasseur. At the same time d’Ambrosio also takes over as head of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, Maranello’s program reserved for young talent. Jerome è was born in Belgium in 1985 and until 2020 will è devote himself to a driving career. To his credit, one win in GP2, three in Formula E, as well as 20 Formula 1 GPs between 2011 and 2012. In Mercedes, he worked alongside Team Principal, Toto Wolff, and was in charge of the Stuttgart company’s youth program.
Both Loic Serra and Jerome d’Ambrosio will begin their adventure with Scuderia Ferrari starting next October 1.
