Rose Zhang strikes again
Not bad Liti
as well.
Nearly a year after her stunning debut on the LPGA Tour, where she won on her first attempt as a professional, Rose Zhang again captured a title by winning the Cognizant Founders Cup. The U.S. golfer made four birdies in the last five holes, edging out Madelene Sagstrom by two strokes with a score of -24 versus -22 at the Upper Montclair Country Club.
Over the final 18 holes, the tournament saw an exciting exchange of leadership between Zhang and Sagstrom, with Zhang eventually è prevailing. This victory marks the second time Zhang has turned a lead or co-leadership after 54 holes into a victory on the circuit.
The success at the Cognizant Founders Cup represents her second title on the LPGA Tour since receiving immediate membership on the tour in 2023, thanks to her victory in Jersey City as a non-member.
Gabriela Ruffels è finished third with a total of -9, while Ruoning Yin, Xiyu Lin and Peiyun Chien shared fourth place. Italy's Roberta Liti put in a solid performance, placing 46th with -1, tied with Grace Kime and Jennifer Kupcho.
