Biennial for Zoet

Jeroen Zoet will continue as Spezia’s goalkeeper. His current contract è expires next June 30, but renewal negotiations are well underway. The Dutchman is expected to sign a two-year extension, which will tie him to the Whites until June 30, 2026.

Zoet è joined Spezia in his first year in Serie A, arriving on a zero-parameter basis from PSV Eindhoven thanks to sporting director Mauro Meluso. Initially designated as a starter, he però lost his place, which è was taken first by the emerging Provedel and then by Dragowski.

This season Zoet has regained and retained the role of starting goalkeeper. So far, the 33-year-old Dutchman has played 49 games in the Spezia shirt, conceding 69 goals and keeping his goal unbeaten on 11 occasions.

The Ligurians are coming off a troubled season, straightened out with difficulty by D’Angelo, who took over running from Alvini: having started with promotion ambitions, Spezia, partly due to a squad that performed below expectations, avoided the caudal forks of the playout on the last day.
